Wessel-Jan Kos

Wessel-Jan Kos, a Dutch native from Hilversum, grew up in a family steeped in perfumery—his father and self-taught grandfather were both perfumers, making him the third generation to carry the legacy forward. He studied chemistry in Amsterdam and later refined his craft at ISIPCA in Versailles, building a strong academic foundation that paved the way for a global career with Firmenich (now DSM-Firmenich). His journey took him across the US, Switzerland, Germany, Dubai, and England before settling in Geneva, where he continues to create for international brands.

In 2022, Wessel-Jan was honored with the title of Master Perfumer, recognizing his ability to merge artistry with technical innovation. Contributing over 200 creations annually across beauty and home fragrance, his work is both prolific and celebrated. Known for compositions that range from floral-ambery to woody-oriental, he has crafted standout scents such as Velvet Splendour, Jour 21, and Noor Neroli. His perfumes embody elegant complexity, emotive storytelling, and timeless appeal—hallmarks of a master at the height of his craft.
